Croutons

These croutons aren’t fancy, but they’re freaking delicious and a little bit old-school.  More often than not, I have to police Marcus once they make it out of the oven because otherwise, they stand zero chance of making it into our salad.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 baguette, sliced and cubed
  • 1-2 T olive oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • Oregano
  • Onion powder
  • Garlic salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Drizzle olive oil over cubed bread (or at this point I usually have the bread on a baking sheet), toss to coat
  • Incorporate salt and pepper, oregano, onion powder and garlic salt to taste
  • Ensure croutons are evenly distributed across baking sheet, place in oven, bake for approximately 15 minutes, shaking once.  Bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until desired crispness is achieved
