Fall in the Garden

It is watermelon harvest time. We picked our first one on Sunday, it was huge.

I did one final pick through of the beans and then pulled the stalks out as they were DONE. I am already planning what sort of trellis we can do next year to be even more successful.

Now that the beans are out, I need to spend time organizing our strawberry runners into rows. It is possible that one of our beds next year will be 100% strawberries and co-plants.

We have approximately five carrots left to pick.

The kale and parsley continue to grow strong. I don’t know that we need six kale plants next year but we might. The ever-bearing nature of the plant is enjoyable.
