We’ll call this week the week of meals I never thought I would actually make!
Saturday – Grilled Turkey Avocado Cheese Sandwiches, Caesar Salad
Honestly the best part of this meal was the plain grilled cheese I made for Critter. Sometimes we all eat together, sometimes we do not. On this occasion he was delighted with the sandwich and that we were all same-same.
Sunday – Simple, Perfect Chili from The Pioneer Woman Cooks, Cheesy Jalapeno
Bacon Cornbread from Cravings
I doubled this batch and ended up freezing three extra meals worth of chili in the freezer. And you know, it’s a fave.
Monday – Sesame Chicken Noodles from Cravings, Asparagus
I don’t want to say that I “forget” how good these noodles are, because we remember that we like them. But every time we eat them we are happy. Also, I am a lazy sloth who never has tahini on hand so we just action this with peanut butter instead. But I’m sure they’re great with the tahini too!
Thursday – Challah French Toast with Peaches
Y’all know it is everyone for themselves at breakfast time in our house, largely because Marcus generally doesn’t EAT breakfast.
But it’s a holiday. And Critter’s “school” offers the option to order challah weekly for Shabbat and other holidays so we participate because who doesn’t love The Lord’s Bread? And who doesn’t love challah french toast?!
Thursday – Breakfast Nachos
Lunch is probably something I should have planned for this week with Rosh Hashanah and everything. But I didn’t. Anyway, I really wanted eggs and avocado for lunch. But not bread? But okay tortilla chips. Hey nachos!
I microwaved the chips/cheese/salsa so it was a little more chilaquiles to be honest and it was exactly what I wanted.
Thursday – Meatballs, Knishes, Balsamic Green Beans, Wild Rice Casserole, Cantaloupe
Not pictured: Matzo ball soup, challah.
I forgot to snap a photo of Wednesday night’s holiday dinner so instead, this. A beautiful plate of food I did not have to cook for myself!
