Friday Food Round-Up!

As soon as I got home from the cabin, we were cooking again.  It is seriously a miracle of God I made this meal plan in advance because I could not possibly have handled the amount of thinking it would have taken to assemble any meal not on the list (and frankly, I didn’t).  Now I need to get up and at ’em so I can meal plan for next week.  Pray for me.

Friday – Chicken Kebabs from Von Hansen’s, Sweet Potato Oven Fries, Grilled Zucchini and Cherry Tomato Kebabs

We ended up actioning sweet potato fries because I had purchased some sweet potatoes to serve as Critter’s first ever meal.  We steamed his up, and then roasted ours and all was well in the world.

Saturday – Bruschetta, Baba Ghanoush, Favorite Three Bean Salad, Grilled Bread

TBH, I was not in the mood to cook at all on Saturday night but I am quite glad that we did because I remembered how much I really really really love Grilled Bread and none of the dishes we assembled were terribly complex to make.

Sunday – Spicy Italian Chicken Sausage from Trader Joe’s, Leftover Smorgasboard: Bruschetta, Baba Ghanoush, Favorite Three Bean Salad, Grilled Bread, Sweet Potato Oven Fries

Not too proud to post this one.

Magically our fridge was stuffed to the gills with food so it really only made sense to work our way through it.  The Spicy Italian Chicken Sausages (such a delicious food) were absolutely the best pairing for the meal and added a little bit of variety.

Monday – Sesame Chicken Noodles from Cravings with Stir-Fried Snap Peas tossed in Sesame Oil and Red Pepper Flakes

I did not know what to expect from these noodles – we’re not big sesame noodle people in this house.  They were delightful.  They were easy to make.  The noodle flavor from cooking them in the same water as the poached chicken was fantastic.  They went well with the snap peas.

Wednesday – Lawn Chicken Salad from Farmhouse Rules

This one is quickly becoming a classic in our house.  Probably because it is so not hard to make, and it is just an excellent salad on the whole.  I actually doubled the curry dressing so we could enjoy more of it over the next week.
