Simpler food this week, gang. If that is possible.
Saturday – Grilled Turkey Cheese Sandwiches and Tomato Soup
I think this is the first time that we have put meat in our grilled cheese sandwiches since our crusade began late last fall. Delicious. The tomato soup was 100% from a can, mixed with one can of milk. Fancy, right?
Monday – Chili Cheese Oven Fries and Salad
Trader Joe’s Turkey Chili to the rescue! This really is one of our favorite staple items from there. We were originally going to have baked potatoes but I really wanted french fries. Easy enough swap.
Thursday – Green Chile Potato Soup
I’ve been reading Shay’s personal blog for probably a year and a half now, but I have never cooked anything from her food blog. She plays a strong slow cooker game, and once I woke up and realized that, I decided it was time to start testing out a recipe each week so that we can get past Chicken In A Pot.
Truths: I only had one potato so I added a can of pinto beans. I only had half an onion instead of a whole because the rest of the bag had gone. This is just how it is sometimes.
However, I am pretty sure most of the flavor in this soup is supposed to come from the taco seasoning and the green chiles, so we lived! It was delightful!

I made these for Easter even though Mom told me I didn’t have to bring anything and Auntie Kim told me we were not assigned dessert (LOL I KNOW AUNTIE KIM). I brought them because it made me feel like somewhat of a human to contribute and act like everything was totally normal.
