Here we are again, with a list of the books I’ve finished recently. As it turns out, first pregnancies are a great time for reading because while I’d like to consider myself someone who is fairly active physically and socially, there are a lot of nights I don’t go out anymore (thanks, 9:00 bedtime) where I am instead reading.
I’ll also take a brief moment to beg all of you who are not yet library-goers to join up with your local library. I honestly think I’ve only purchased two books this year and one of them was a book on baby deals and the other one was a book on convincing your infant to sleep. We are very lucky that the closest branch of our library is only a mile away so it is always very easy to pop in to pick up or return book. But, for you modern people with your eReaders, I know I have said this before, but you can check out eBooks through the library as well! Or at least you can if you belong to the Hennepin County Library system. It is so frighteningly easy. Many weekends, I simply sit on the couch, add eBooks to my reserves list and then wait for an e-mail informing me that they are ready! Then, all I have to do is log into my library account, “check out” the book, and download it from Amazon. It could not be any simpler.
Kitchens of the Great Midwest by J. Ryan Stradal
Case Histories by Kate Atkinson
Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert
Unfinished Business by Anne-Marie Slaughter
Books-readers, what have you been reading lately? The Amazon best books list for November is not super-interesting to me, so I need your suggestions!
