This week, we got to try a few new recipes and (gasp) another dinner salad! What is this world coming to?! Honestly though, if I’m going to be living in a world that is functionally speaking without exercise for the next two weeks, you’ll probably be seeing a few more salads sprinkled in here. Sunday – Mushroom Bourgignon from The Smitten Kitchen with Egg Noodles and Salad
I have flipped past this recipe in this cookbook how many times and have ignored it? We had actually intended to action this last week, but clearly that did not happen. As we (along with the rest of the country!) descended into a cold snap this week, this was a supremely cozy meal to start the week off the right way.
Monday – Kimchi Fried Rice, Stir Fried Peapods with Red Pepper and Ginger
I swear to God, someday I’ll write down a recipe for this dinner since it is deadly apparent that we eat it all the time. The peapods were a big hit when we made them last time, so we had to eat them again.
Thursday – Grilled Filet Steak and Arugula
A girlfriend gave me this salad recipe several years ago because it is one of her favorites. Naturally I proceeded to tuck it away in my recipe binder for ignoring. I’m not sure why I decided that we had to eat it this week, but we did and it was So Excellent. It will absolutely be joining our weeknight rotation.
I feel like it goes without saying, but obviously we did not use filet steak for this recipe, but rather some sort of sirloin that was on sale at the grocery store. It turned out Just Fine.
