Week in the Life: Friday

TGIF, kittens, am I right?  Or more appropriately, hooray for the whole weekend.

I wake up at 5:15 AM during the week and honestly, that does not seem so bad most of the time.  I think it is most problematic when I have to schedule a pre-5:00 AM wake-up because those are actually painful.  Thankfully I did not have ANY of those this week.  But back to Friday.  Over breakfast, I took a minute to review my Week in the Life post.

After breakfast, I hauled all of our leftovers out of the fridge and assembled a Taco Salad.Phone Photos 002

This looks more organized, no?

And I wore this.  Fridays are casual at my office, but I had some important meetings so I was…not casual.Phone Photos 004

Work blew by (even though it was a long day!) and I finally had to hustle out so that I could get to my Friday afternoon volunteer activity.  It’s crazy to say but on my volunteer days, no matter how stressed I am, the timing always has a way of working itself out.

I’m really glad for that because it’s something I truly enjoy.  In the hour that I was at Interfaith, I found 14 job postings that I thought would be a good fit for the clients.

I’m really proud of that.

When I (finally) got home, I sat down on the couch with a glass of  wine (Two Buck Chuck to be specific), caught up on 10 hours of Twitter/Instagram and did our meal planning.  Phone Photos 007

I picked out an old favorite and a few new meals, so we’ll see if Past Kat was right or not next week I suppose.  I tried to stay away from anything that seemed excessively time consuming, but it’s hard to know until you are slicing and dicing.

When proper dinner rolled around, Mom and Dad swung by to pick me up for a Friday adventure.

We headed over to the Sunshine Factory and we made it just in time for happy hour.  Which meant wine and cheese curds.

It was nice to relax and unwind with them.  College Kat would be shaking her head because Friday nights are party nights (obviously), but I feel like I have really, truly come to enjoy quiet Friday nights.  And then, embarrassing confession: after dinner, I confronted the horrific realization that I could be falling asleep before 9:00 PM and I was okay with that.
