We overdid it this week.  But my God.  How delicious.

Sunday – Sesame Noodles from Dinner: A Love Story


You guys, I have wanted to make peanut noodles for several weeks now and on Sunday I had a cucumber and some green onions that I needed to get rid of.  The day finally arrived and it was the perfect side to bring with to our family dinner.  I had about a cup of dried macaroni noodles left in the pantry so I tossed those in with our spaghetti noodles because noodle uniformity was not really the point of this dish anyway.

Monday – Chicken with Artichokes in a Creamy Mustard Sauce from Dinner: The Playbook with steamed rice


This is the first recipe we got to cook from Dinner: The Playbook.  It was as delicious as it was easy.  Super cozy  I’m really looking forward to trying more of these dishes!

Tuesday – Buttermilk Cornbread Waffles from How To Cook Everything topped with Braised Beef, Black Beans and Nacho Fixings


Galina, as you all know, is my waffle-making partner in crime.  She owns the waffle maker, I text her pictures of different waffle dishes that we could make and then, we make them.  It is magic.

I mixed up the waffle batter for this little crusade.  We used it the last time we made waffles as well and it really is so good.  One batch of batter makes about 8-10 waffles.

Galina introduced me to Rick Bayless Simmer Sauces – she used one for the braised beef and it was just to die for.

Wednesday – Mom’s Green Chili Enchiladas with Guacamole


One of my dear girlfriends just had a baby and so I decided to make a meal for her because we have a shared love of enchiladas.  Since it’s just as easy to make one pan as it is to make two, I bet the house and went for it.

Thursday – Molly’s Artichoke Dip, Buffalo Chicken Dip, Taco Pizza and BBQ Chicken Pizza

Subtitle: The best dinner I never ate.

Marcus and his friends have a monthly poker night and they take turns hosting.  It was FINALLY our turn and we started talking about what he wanted to serve about a month and a half ago.  This is the menu we came up with so I made all of the food (with my favorite sous-chef of course!), ordered myself some takeout sushi and hid in our bedroom with my laptop, some Game of Crowns and a Manhattan.
