Starting Summer Reading

I feel like in the past week or two, I really haven’t gotten to read anything for fun At All, which is not a shocker because studying for tests takes all of your time.  Some of these books got started while we were on our Derby roadtrip, so that is why they got finished.

That being said, I am really looking forward to MORE summer reading!  I spent quite a bit of time last weekend sorting though various reading lists and adding some things to my library holds list.

The Antelope in the Living Room by Melanie Shankle

Wild by Cheryl Strayed

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

  1. Did you like them? I love Wild and it made me want to hike the Appalachian Trail, which isn’t the same trail she hikes, but it seems a bit more sane than the PCT.
I’m reading River God by Wilbur Smith. It’s pretty good, but it’s getting a little long. The good guy always seems to win in this story, which makes it less exciting to read. I’m also halfway through Eden Close by Anita Shreve. It’s not particularly memorable, but it’s a great summer fluff or travel read. Sometimes we need the fluff.
