Reverb 12 | Prompt 22 | Song

#reverb12 is a prompt-a-day series for the month of December that is meant to give us all the chance to reflect on 2012 and the opportunity to write down our hopes and dreams for the coming year. Through December 31st Meredith, Sarah and I will be posting each day with a new prompt. Join us by writing, or join us by reading. No matter what you choose, come with us.

Song:  What has been your theme song this year?  Have there been several?  Make us a mix tape and tell us the meaning behind it.

There are a lot of songs that are worthy of the title of Song Of The Year for 2012.

There are songs I sang to at the top of my lungs.  Songs that brought tears at exactly the right time.  Songs where I can still tell you what mile of what race, specifically, I was running when they started to play.

But what I really hope I don’t ever forget is what it felt like to hear this one, at 12:30 AM on Wednesday, November 7th.

And this is why.

  1. I’m gonna go with Stronger by Kelly Clarkson. Makes me jog faster too.

  2. Okay, my theme song is “I love you like a love song”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s a funny story. My kids would always be singing ‘I love you like a love song baby, oh, oh.” And it got so irritating. I would say, “could you please stop singing that, where is that even from anyway?” So, finally my oldest son said, “c’mon mom you just need to hear this song it’s aweome.” I let them pull it up on youtube by Solina Gomez and I loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can’t get enough. So, now I walk around singing, “I love you like a love song babyyyyyyyy, and I keep hittin repeat, peat, peat, peat, peat, peat……” And my kids are now telling me they’ve heard enough. It’s come full circle, ya know? hahahahahaha. Love you!
