Reverb 12 | Prompt 14 | Family

#reverb12 is a prompt-a-day series for the month of December that is meant to give us all the chance to reflect on 2012 and the opportunity to write down our hopes and dreams for the coming year. Through December 31st Meredith, Sarah and I will be posting each day with a new prompt. Join us by writing, or join us by reading. No matter what you choose, come with us.

Family: Did you role in the family shift or change over the past year? How? Why?

I was going to write about grandparents today.

Not doing that.

Right now what we need to do is pray for those people in Newtown, and for the wisdom to have a real national conversation about how to keep elementary school children from getting shot dead in their classrooms.

I am blessed to have a truly wonderful family. I cannot imagine the immense pain and hurt the people of Newtown are experiencing right now.

Kittens, you are so loved.

Good night.

  1. There are no words, we all have opinions of what needs to be addressed, gun laws, mental health issues in youth, the over use of meds in youth, the fact that boys aren’t allowed to be boys anymore, the subjection to too much media and the trash of the world at young ages….whatever it is, there still are no words for what is probably one of the most tragic events of my lifetime thus far. God help these people in their great hour of need. Love,
