…And no bus in sight for this lady. Only the trail.
Today was the first day of the 5k Run Clinic that I’m leading for the Running Room.
I would be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous. I tossed and turned all night. I didn’t know what my group would be like. I didn’t know what leading other runners would be like. I didn’t know what meeting the other instructors would be like. I worried about freezing to death, because getting dressed in the proper layers to run outdoors in the cold is at best an inexact science for me.
As it turns out, they all signed up for the clinic to force themselves to learn how to run outside in the winter.
Which is to say that they’re absolutely perfect.
That being said, training and instructing is going to be a bit of an…adjustment. I went for my training run before I went to the clinic, and by the time I was back home scarfing down lunch, I was EXHAUSTED.
We all know that I’m no stranger to the post-long run nap, but I feel like by the time we make it to the middle of March, that’s going to take on a whole new meaning.
Pray for me, kittens.
Have you ever signed up for something in order to force/guilt yourself into doing it?
How did you spend your Saturday afternoon?
