Marvelous and Lovely

I know.  I KNOW.

There haven’t been nearly enough gratuitous shots of my lovely mug on The Blog lately.

Just remember – at least I took a snap of my post-party self.

And by the way, if you could ignore whatever freaky thing is going on with my big toe there, that would be great too.

In all seriousness, we went to a donor cocktail party tonight on Summit Avenue with Mom and Dad and then high-tailed it over to Bacio for dinner.

It was marvelous and lovely and relaxing and delicious.

Plus, as we all know, one of my favorite views in the WHOLE ENTIRE WORLD is the Cathedral at the top of the hill as you’re about to head down towards the Capital.

Being able to take that in at dusk?

It made my heart hurt.  Just a little bit.

How it is not even 9:30 yet is beyond me – on our drive home, Marcus and I were practically passing out on top of one another.  Maybe there’s a rip in the very fabric of time.  Maybe my body is trying to prepare me for Daylight Savings Time.  But I’m guessing that’s somewhat improbable since I’m not even entirely sure if we’re losing or gaining an hour right now.

So, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go curl up in bed with a hot pack.

The nest Duty calls.

What’s your favorite view in the world?

  1. I spy…… A Hal Higdon Marathon book in the background. #Love

  2. I used to always forget which one it was for daylight savings time, until I learned it’s “FALL back, SPRING forward!” So, seeing as it’s fall, we’re falling back an hour.
Honestly, I didn’t notice anything odd about your feet until you mentioned something.
Any place where I can get a view of a beautiful city. I love city views!

  3. Hmmm, favourite view…that’s a toughie. I love a prairie sunset, especially in the fall, while the dust from harvest is still in the air but it’s cool enough for the air to feel crisp, and there’s a little cloud in the sky, so that the colours of the sunset are even more dramatic.

  4. I think my favorite view is of mountians….either viewed from overhead in a plane or from the ground looking straight up. Maybe because it gives a great perspective on just how big the world is or maybe because it makes me feel short (I never feel short).

  5. How does everyone in the world have your same kitchen cabinets?! We had those same cabinets growing up, Dan and I had them at our condo, and Dan’s parents have them at their beach house. They are like the cabinets known the world over!

Anyway, glad you had a fun time out 🙂 And I totally feel you, I’ve been feeling like crashing earlier and earlier each night. Daylight savings, here I come!

  6. Views from up high at sunset and sunrise pretty much rule. Especially if there is a volcano involved. And lava. Best wishes to your poor toe.

  7. I totally forgot Daylight Savings Time is this week! Duh. Thanks for the reminder!

Hmmmm favorite view….definitely a view of the mountains after a huge snowfall. Usually the day after is a blue bird day so you can see for miles. It reminds me to take a moment and just breathe….

  8. Hmmm.. My favorite views in the world are at the top of a mountain just before the first ski run of the day for me – nothing like the anticipation of getting moving 🙂

  9. My favorite view in the entire world is from a high dune at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. It’s a 360 degree experience with the water, the sand, the woodlands, rolling farmland, a the coolest white historical barn complex. The view at sunset is amazing, but the hike down is a little tricky. 😉
