At least a solid six

Kittens, I had so much I wanted to share with you tonight.  It was mapped out.  Drafted.  Planned.

But, to be blunt, I am exhausted.

For the past few days I’ve woken up at 4:30 AM to sneak a run in because we’ve had evening plans and the weather has been so horrendous that I would likely be running inside anyway.

I’ve never been a girl who needs her full eight hours of beauty sleep to survive, but I do need a solid six.

While rolling out of bed hasn’t been hard, trying to stay standing past 8 PM definitely has been.

So it should come as no surprise that right now a migraine is attempting to strike and I want nothing more than to collapse into bed.

A Small Mercy = I was able to address my mitts and paws prior to this evening’s cocktail party.  Since we were going to spend time on a patio in Minneapolis, it only seemed like The Civilized Thing to do.  And I wish I were kidding when I say it had been…weeks.  And y’all know that when I can’t remember the last time I got my nails did, I’m probably falling apart at the seams.

Thank God Grey Suede is such a forgiving color.  I don’t even know what I would do with myself if my mitts were chippy and…Tropical.  Or something like that.

So, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go lay down.

How do you cope when you’re over-scheduled?

Do you get migraines with any regularity?

*Knock on Wood* Mine aren’t particularly long, but I do get one at least once every three months and GOD is it miserable.

  1. Oh, no! I am so sorry about your migraine. I get them, too. Really, nothing works for me besides getting into a cool bed, in the dark, no sound, no smells, nothing. I tend to get at least two headaches a week, but migraines less frequently, probably only once or twice a month. Sometimes an ice pack on my forehead works. Do you see auras? I did not used to, but over the past couple years, I see them before my biggest, meanest migraines. When I see them, I know I am in deep trouble, must stop what I am doing, and take cover! Hope today is a better day!

  2. I am so sorry about the migraine. Brutal. I think sleep is your only help. That and maybe reschedule some of the upcoming appointments to give yourself a little breathing room.

  3. Ugh! I hope the turban works wonders. I only get migraines a few times a year, but they can last for 4-7 days. I’m great fun to be around when that happens.

  4. I dont blog when im stressed out and busy because its something i do for fun. i always feel like i owe my readers something at the end of the day but realize they’ll be OK if i dont post. it’s ok to take a break, relax pretty 🙂

  5. Oh girl, get some rest! I hope that you feel better.
    When I get stressed, I take a minute to just breathe. Even if just a pause before going onto the next thing, it’s good to just take a second and close your eyes. You can lay all of the thing out in front of you in your mind, you know?

  6. I feel ya – I get headaches whenever I sleep too much or too little. Feel better!

  7. I hate headaches and I am easily affected by them. I suffer from sinus related headaches two days/week and it is annoying to say the least. I really hope you fell better!

  8. I’ve had 4 migraines EVER and yikes. I feel for anyone who gets them with any kind of regularity. I would die.

    I don’t cope well at all when I am over-scheduled. I’ve gotten really good at saying no in the last few years. My not coping mostly involves me drinking a lot when I go out, throwing my diet out the window, and then becoming a very crabby bizzo when I realize I’m hung over and fat and super over-tired.

    Not cute.

    I’ve recently been doing my nails more pinkish. Berry Daring if you care to know. It’s crap when it’s chippy, though. It requires me to be more attentive than I usually am.
