Creatures of the Night

It’s the day after Thanksgiving, so the Gingerbread Coffee had to come out of the pantry today, where it has been waiting patiently for the last two weeks.

Pumpkin Spice, I just want you to know that it’s not you, it’s me.

It should come as no surprise to you all that Black Friday shopping this year was a freaking party since Minnesota was having the coldest Thanksgiving since like…1985 and I had the most terrible stomach cramp in recent memory.

Billy and I sporting our Traditional Battle Gear.

But you’re a far more effective shopper if you’re walking around the mall freezing your face off while you’re doubled over in pain.  It also allows you to really mean it when you glare at someone for trying to trample you.

The haul: A white jacket shot through with gold threads and giant gold buttons (it’s sort of a Chanel-style cut) from Banana Republic for $13.  I still have absolutely no idea of where I’ll sport it, but I needed to own it out of principal.  Not shockingly, I also brought home a Ralph Lauren shawl-collar gray men’s pullover.  Total Cost: $47.57.

Deals.

Shoppers, what DEALS did you end up getting?

Non-shoppers, what was the most humorous/awkward part of your family feast?

  1. I admire you for braving the cold (and the stomach cramp-age) for early-morning Black Friday shopping. I’m not a fan of the Black Friday crowds, so I avoid shopping at all costs on this day. I did however make some Amazon holiday purchases from the comfort of my couch and sweatpants 🙂

  2. I’m not really a Black Friday shopper . . . but I took my four and seven-year-old sisters out to help them buy Christmas gifts for the rest of the fam. Totally felt like I was fighting my way past stampeding cattle . . . and it was after 3 PM! I thought serious shoppers would have been finished by then.

Props to you for not only enduring the weather but pain! Oh my! I hope you’re feeling better :]

  3. I scored some spinning shoes this morning (late morning) for 25% off! 🙂 I was pretty happy about that since I had planned on getting spin shoes anyway!

The most humorous part of my Thanksgiving was playing Balderdash with my cousins. It’s tradition – and always hilarious 🙂

  4. Oh, the jacket sounds so pretty. I did not shop this year. Perhaps, next. Most awkward part of my Thanksgiving is that I ate spaghetti for Thanksgiving Dinner. Though I was very sad about it and so made real Thanksgiving food to eat yesterday.

  5. Are you freaking kidding me? A jacket for thirteen bucks? You must have hit the outlet mall for that slamming deal. I’ve hit the outlet mall in the past, but wasn’t brave enough this year. We did hit up Len Druskin and the Mister picked up a pair of rock and republic jeans for 40 bucks. Seriously.
