Warming the House

Capping off a weekend of madness was the housewarming/Mezuzah hanging party Marcus and I hosted.  It was just a family event, but it was so crazy to think that even though Marcus has been there a year, there are so many people who hadn’t been there yet!

Were I a smart cookie, I would have snapped some shots of the mezuzot for y’all, but rather, I got the food table.

We served: A cheese tray, a veggie tray, bruschetta, deviled eggs, olives, buffalo chicken dip, homemade hummus, pico de gallo, guacamole, chocolate trifle, cherry pie, truffles, creme de menthe truffles, brownies.  NOM.  And standard beverages of the beer, wine and soda variety.

We were given a number of thoughtful gifts but one pleasant surprise was the Hummingbird Feeder that Auntie Kim and Uncle Steve brought us.

If you build it they will come.

I LOVE watching Hummingbirds in the summer and I hadn’t even thought of the possibility that we could put one on the deck, despite the fact that we have three brackets for hanging plants.

And speaking of plants…

These babies finally made it outside!  The basil is kind of heart-set on becoming a climbing vine.  I don’t tell it how to live.
