Style

I am the kind of person that only wears about 8-10 different pieces of jewelry in a year.  Not because I abhor accessories, but because I despise costume jewelry and most trends.

I almost exclusively shop the sale rack.

When doing morning shopping, before I walk into a nice department store, I make sure to put on a bracelet and a strand of pearls.  Even if my hair is in what is most aptly described as a “shitty pony.”

I am most comfortable in a Polo RL Crewneck Sweatshirt and leggings.

If I had a style soulmate, it would be Kate Middleton.  She’s a Sloane Ranger and a Rah.

I only wear bracelets on my left wrist.

Every WASP is supposed to have designated “go to hell” clothing.  This is most assuredly, an area that I excel in.

Unless you are someone who participates in manual labor, it’s really inappropriate to embrace the trend of plaid/flannel.  I have similar sentiments regarding the recent upsurge in cargo pockets.  And thick, black, exposed elastic.

I absolutely do not understand why Kay is using Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman to design a jewelry line.  Judging from the commercials, it looks like some sort of art therapy for her?  For the record, the only people allowed to do “art therapy” that I will wear on my body are Jean, Paloma, Frank and Elsa.  That is all.

  1. Kate Middleton’s style rocks! But do you know who my inspiration was and always will be? The late Carolyn Bessette Kennedy. I often Google her photos just to see her gorgeous style.

Oh, and Tory Burch is my hero.

  2. PS – I finally broke down and bought a pair of Tory Burch flats as above, in black. I didn’t want to be like everyone else but I wanted to match Maya. And I had to do it before she outgrew hers.

    I realize I am nuts….
