Sharing at You

Is it just me, or does this feel like one of the longer weeks we’ve had in recent memory?  I mean, I have plenty to look forward to this weekend, but I feel like the days have just been dragging.

I was hoping to blame it on the heat, but considering how much time I spent not-outside in the past few days, I think that might be something of a stretch.

This afternoon, I popped over Mom and Dad’s house to pick up a package and was greeted by this lovely sight.

In case you couldn’t tell from my wedding bouquet, I love hydrangeas 11/10.

And let me tell you, that bush has looked anemic at best for summers.  There were points where I seriously thought it was done for.  This year?  It has fluffed up in a manner that suggests it’s As Happy As A Clam.

I like to think that I would look that perky too if I got to sunbathe all day ;)

And the package I had to pick up?  Was my myAgenda!

I wish I had thought to take a snap while I was unwrapping it – they packed it in some pink, polka dotted-tissue paper.

It felt all gift-y instead of like I had shelled out an arm and a leg for it.

On second thought, everything should come packed in pink, polka-dotted tissue paper.

Including bills and legal papers.

In all seriousness, the thing is a veritable planning-bible.  It’s almost as large as my netbook and nearly as heavy, too.  I had originally thought that I was looking for something sensible to tuck into my purse, but I think I’ve managed to inadvertently turn a corner of my dining room table into Mission Control.

The organizing-rampage will start this weekend.

And last but not least, because tonight is obviously me freestyle-sharing at you, a funny…

We’re in the middle of re-doing all of our my magazine subscriptions, right?  So I got the August issue of bon appetit.

Great.  Case closed.

As it turns out, when they attempted to auto-renew my subscription, it triggered them to send me yet another copy of the August issue.

It was very More is More of them.

Imagine my amusement when we received a third copy of the August issue as the beginning of the gift subscription that we’ll be enjoying for the next year.

More is More is More?

Happily, I’ve already sourced homes for the two orphan magazines.  You know, the value of thrift and all that.

Have you ever ended up with magazine multiples?

What kind of planner do you use?  Is it purse-able?

  1. It’s not just you! This past month has been agonizing in it’s slowness…I don’t know if it’s the extreme heat or work that’s getting me down, but like they saying goes: time flies when you’re having fun. Maybe we need more fun. That’s my new goal.

  2. Girl, it’s so NOT you. This month has been agony. Ugh.
And, I must agree: Hydrangeas are gorgeous. Love.

  3. This last week has gone agonizingly slow. I woke up yesterday thinking it was Friday – and boy, what a monumental mental letdown first thing in the morning!!

Also – no I don’t care a Agenda anymore and I am the worse for it. But the one I do have that hasn’t been updated since I graduated college was “purse-able”, if I had a bit bigger of a purse…

  4. This has been the longest week. Ever. Not really sure why, but by Tuesday I really thought it was Thursday and then it felt like three Thursdays in a row. And sadly, I feel like this weekend is going to go by so fast. Eah – so is life, but I will do everything to enjoy every moment of it. I am all about using my iPhone for my planner – that way my schedule is always with me.
    Much love,
    B

  5. Everyone in blog world is getting a paper planner! I have been using my Google calendar rather than a paper planner. But I am still not 100% in love with it. But I have yet to find a paper planner I love. I will check out the one you got, and see if it could work for me.

  6. It’s so funny you should post this. I have been searching for weeks for the perfect planner. I have been keeping my calendar on my iPhone, but I really want to go back to a paper calendar. You’ll have to let us know how you like your new agenda.

  7. Ha, feel free to send me one of those magazines ;)

i dont have a planner – i always lose them!

  8. When Gourmet went under, they sent me Bon Appetit instead. But I already subscribed to Bon Appetit. So for 3 months I got both. Which actually just really annoyed me b/c CHECK YOUR DATABASE PEOPLE! So I’ll be done with them when this subscription runs out. I’m also giving up Food Network. It’s fun to look at, but largely impractical and a little too self-serving for my taste. I’m sticking with Cooking Light, Eating Well and Vegetarian Times.

  9. I’m embarrassed to say that I keep 3 calendars. One on my phone for making appts. on the run, one “purse-able” that I always forget to carry in my purse, and one for the family on a giant whiteboard. The first two keep my stuff together long enough for me to transfer it to the FamCalendar where I can see it all laid out in a monthly format. I would love to have just one master, but have yet to find one with a monthly view that wasn’t annoying “dots” on the page for events with no info.
