Despite the fact that I continue to share others’ weddings with y’all, it’s been awhile since I’ve updated you on what’s happening with ours. And by that I mean, wedding planning has been a startlingly anti-climactic experience. I know I’ve said it before, and I’m sure by the time I walk down the aisle, y’all will be sick and tired of hearing it. BUT, I have absolutely no idea of how some people manage to stretch out the wedding planning-process like they do. It is not a reality I live.
My people? We’re pro-league for sure.
So anyway, with all of that in mind, it should come as no surprise to you that we managed to select the rehearsal dinner site in record time and with a total minimum of input.
Apparently while we were dress shopping, my Mom and Sue announced that they were going to check out one of the sites that Marcus and I had agreed looked “nice” via e-mail.
I’m not entirely sure of what I was doing at the time…Shimmying out of the creepy dress shop communal undergarments? Hello, horror show. Wriggling my way into dress 14? Eating a cupcake? It’s really neither here nor there because what I was not doing was learning of these plans.
So you can only imagine my surprise when later that week I got an e-mail from Mom informing me that the two of them had eaten lunch there, agreed that it was The Space for Our Party and forked over the deposit at Burl Oaks.
And, oh by the way, we’re going to go with The Italian Buffet option because apparently it is The Best.
p.s. For everyone’s sake, I really hope the fairy dust came through for you on that one.
